Annual German Potluck

On Sunday, March 5th, we celebrated our German church heritage with a potluck immediately following the worship service.

The congregation went above and beyond with bringing in traditional German dishes such as Sauerbraten, Pork Roast, Pork Spare Ribs and Sauerkraut, Dumplings, Spaetzle, and so much more!

As Pastor Bacic discovered, we also had a lovely selection of desserts!

Our church celebrates our German heritage twice a year at this Annual German Potluck and on Reformation Sunday with an Oktoberfest meal in October.

Reformation Service

” Together in worship and then in fellowship let us come and enjoy the “Reformation’s Truths and Freedoms of God’s Word” that He provided 505 years ago for all His children. Let us celebrate and Praise God for His Blessing of Eternal Grace! ”

Dear Fellow Lutherans, the right attachment photo is today’s Wittenberg, Germany, where Martin Luther hung his 95 theses on the Roman Catholic Church’s front door in 1517; a personal action step that brought on the Protestant Reformation.

In honor of Luther’s faith and conviction, Sunday, October 30th First Lutheran, Little Rock, will offer a Reformation Service at 3:00 pm. Guest speaker will be Pastor Willie Grills, Zion Lutheran Church, Avilla, AR. And we will be blessed to once again enjoy a ‘Mass Choir’ consisting of our members and those from our fellow Little Rock Metro Lutheran Churches, singing special service music under the direction of Mary Shollmier, Trinity Lutheran, NLR,

On October 30th please consider attending our Reformation Service at 3:00 pm, to be followed by our Oktoberfest fellowship meal. Thank you, and God Bless!

What is Every One His Witness?

Every One His Witness is a Lutheran evangelism program that teaches you to witness to your friends, coworkers, and any other nonchurched people you may know. Using the LASSIE approach to witnessing (listen, ask, seek, share, invite, and encourage), you will learn how to naturally share the Good News of Jesus Christ through relational, contextual witnessing.

What does this mean?

It means listening to those who are unsure about Christianity. It means asking questions that aren’t accusatory. It means sharing the Good News about Jesus. Notice how there’s no bashing, no judgment, and no forced imposition of beliefs. Instead, there’s understanding, communication, and honesty between friends. And Every One His Witness teaches you how.
